Message from the Principal
First and foremost, I would like to wish all “my moms” a very special Mother’s Day. I hope you take time to enjoy a special moment or two with your children this Mother’s Day.
As a reminder, this month, our third through fifth graders will be taking part in the RICAS (Rhode Island Comprehensive Assessment System) Tests in Mathematics. The RICAS Test, which is aligned to our standards, reflects what students are expected to know and be able to do in each grade. The RICAS assessment, along with the various other forms of assessments we use, provide important information on teaching and learning in order for us to continually improve as a community of learners. On average, math sessions will take students less than ninety minutes to complete. There will be two days of testing for math.
Next, we are in the final stretch of the school year. This time of year becomes very busy with classroom programs, field trips, evening presentations and culminating events. Please make sure you are carefully reading your child’s classroom newsletter as well as my weekly brief to stay on top of the many exciting events we have going on.
In closing, although this is a very exciting time of year, we are still working and holding our students accountable to high expectations. Please remind your children to continue to try their best to meet all academic and behavioral expectations.
Again, Happy Mother’s Day!!!
