Message from the Principal
I hope you are all enjoying the magical moments of this season. The past few weeks I have heard numerous stories about favorite holiday traditions, decorating, and of course, elves! Although this time of year may indeed be busy for us all, try to take a few moments to sit back and share in the magic with your children.
As part of our school’s tradition, starting on Monday, Dec. 3rd, Oak Lawn’s Giving Tree will once again be set up outside of the office for the holiday season. Upon our Giving Tree, there are “decorations,” that have gifts written on them. The gifts are gift certificates ranging in price from $5.00 to $20.00. If parents give their children permission to get a decoration from the tree, the children will pick a decoration, take it home in order to buy the gift and then return the gift to our school’s office. This year all gifts will be due back on Monday, Dec. 17th. Our Giving Tree helps ensure that Oak Lawn families in need are able to have a wonderful holiday season.
Also, on Monday, December 17th at 9:15am, we will have our Annual Holiday Sing. During this time, the students, teachers and I sing holiday songs to our families on the school courtyard/blacktop. This is guaranteed to put all in the holiday spirit. We hope to see you there.
In closing, I wish you a joyous holiday season.
